No-line pencil colouring (DT Verity)

-Hi there, it is Design team member Verity from Pretty Little Button. I have a lovely one-layered card for you today. I’m not usually known for one layered card, just because I love plenty of dimension to my cards. However, I loved colouring this in and felt it didn’t need anything more to it as the colouring had plenty of depth to it itself!

No-line pencil colouring Card overview:

To start off, trim down a piece of craft card to 1/4″ smaller than an A2 card. Select a few floral stamps and arrange into one corner of the panel – the stamps used here are from the Altenew Floral Frame stamp set. Using a watermark ink like versamark, stamp these images onto the card panel. You could mask the florals if you find this easier, but as I was going to colour this in, I didn’t worry about lines/stamps overlapping as this would be covered up.

Using a selection of pencils, colour in the image adding different shades to create depth and dimension. The pencils I used for this card were a selection of Polychromos. I used a white pencil for the highlight areas. Stamp and emboss a sentiment in white embossing powder and finish off with a few Tonic Nuvo drops in colour corresponding shades.

Finishing the card off:

To finish this card off I added a funny sentiment from the Narky Finishing Sentiments stamp set. The sentiment ‘This card was made by someone trying to raise pennies to fund their crafting addiction!’ can fit so many crafts and is the perfect addition to add to the back of your cards!

Masked Embossed resist – Sealed with a Kiss (DT Verity)

Hi there, it is Design team member Verity from Pretty Little Button. I am very excited today, you are all part of my next adventure in crafting…..venturing on to Youtube! For today’s card, I  choose to use the Sealed with a Kiss stamp set on the front of the card by creating a masked emboss resist card. I love the pop of colour the inking gives and how the sentiments from the stamp set really stand out. So, less writing from me today, and instead watch and see how these cards came together!

Hello Beautiful – Narky Finishing Sentiments (DT Verity)

Hi there, it is Design team member Verity from Pretty Little Button. I do love to make a clean and simple card, and I have another one for you today. For this one, I used a lovely small little stamp set from Altenew (One of a kind) and it just shows you don’t need a lot to create something beautiful. Of course, I finished the card off with one of the amazing stamps from Chunky Monkey Crafts and added a couple of small silver sequins from the Icicle Sequin mix to help balance with the larger sequins I added.

Hello Beautiful – Narky Finishing Sentiments Card overview:

I stamped the floral image 3 times onto smooth watercolour card. I used a selection of watercolours to add colour. I purposely didn’t ‘colour’ the images in, I just added colour all over for a bold pop of colour for the card. When the images were dry, I fussy cut these out.

I cut several square frames from a Tattered Lace die set in three sizes and stacked these together at an angle. Where the excess overhung the card, I trimmed the pieces down. The floral images were layered onto of one another, and foam squares help to give depth and dimension. I stamped a simple sentiment from Altenew Meadow Flowers in black ink and added some gold paint splatter to the background.

Lastly, I added some yellow and orange sequins to match the colour of the flowers.

Finishing the card off:

I felt the card was lacking a little sparkle, so I did add a couple of small silver sequins from the Icicle Sequin Mix from Chunky Monkey Crafts. In addition, I used the #supportasmallbusiness stamp on the back, as I feel this is very appropriate. I am helping Chunky Monkey Crafts, supporting this small business by creating and promoting their products. So please, so support Chunky Monkey Crafts.

Sealed with a Kiss: Happy Birthday! (DT Verity)

Hi there, it is Design team member Verity from Pretty Little Button. I do love to make a clean and simple card, and I have another one for you today. Of course, I used a stamp from Chunky Monkey Crafts to finish the card off. This is from another stamp set called ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ and this retails at £6.99 for this A6 stamp set. Again, for today’s card, I created a Happy Birthday card, which I aimed for a more masculine/unisex style. I needed to make my dad a card, and thought this would be great!

Sealed with a Kiss Card overview:

To start off, heat emboss a striped pattern onto grey cardstock – the stamp used was from Concord & 9th ‘Hooray’ set. Trim this down and round off the edges. Apply silver Tonic Nuvo Embellishment mousse with a palette knife to a Kraft card panel and allow to dry.

Mount the card panel onto a white card base with a small border. Foam mount the heat embossed panel onto the card, offset from the embellishment mousse. Die cut a sentiment several times and layer up – this is the ‘Happy’ die from Lawn Fawn. Stamp and emboss a secondary sentiment onto a piece of white card and trim down to size. Adhere the sentiments onto the card and add white Tonic Nuvo drops as embellishments.

Finishing the card off:

As I mentioned I used a stamp from the ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ set from Chunky Monkey Crafts. I added one to the back of the card beneath my logo sticker and felt this sentiment was very apt as well my cards are made with love. In addition, I also added a sentiment to the back of the envelope and loved how this turned out!

Sequin Mix: Icicle – Happy Birthday! (DT: Verity)

Hi there, it is Design team member Verity from Pretty Little Button. I have a lovely clean and simple card to show you today where I used a fabulous sequin mix sold by Chunk Monkey Crafts.- Icicle It has a variety of shapes and sizes which add a touch of elegance to any card. I love the whites and silvers of this mix, so make sure you head over to her Etsy shop and pick a bag up!

Icicle Sequin Mix Card overview:

To start, ink blend with a soft bristle brush in a colour of your choosing in one corner of the card – I used Peacock feathers distress oxide for this card. Add a few splatters of water and soak up with a paper towel for added texture.

Layer and foam mount several die-cut circle frames and position over this area. Die cut a sentiment several times out of white card and layer for dimension – mount this onto the card. Stamp a secondary sentiment and position underneath.

Applying the sequins:

Once the whole panel is matted onto a card base, it is time to embellish with sequins. I choose to position my sequins in three clusters on the card. Two around the sentiment and one cluster up in the top left corner. It is more aesthetically pleasing if you vary the size of the sequins in a cluster and their position. This sequin mix is perfect for this as it contains sequins of several different sizes. Adhere these down with glue and allow to dry to ensure the sequins stay put.

Finishing the card off:

I finished this card off with a sentiment from the ‘Narky Sentiments’ stamp set – ‘Shop handmade’. These are a fabulous set to help finish your cards and envelopes off!
